GBMA Summit 2026

Join government, industry and healthcare leaders at the GBMA Summit as we explore some of the contributors to medicine shortages and discuss how healthcare stakeholders can together chart a path toward sustainable access to medicines for Australians.

The program opens with key insights to set the context for the day, including global perspectives and keynote addresses from the Minister for Health, Disability and Ageing The Hon. Mark Butler MP and Shadow Minister for Health and Aged Care Senator the Hon. Anne Ruston, before moving through three focused sessions.

  • Session 1: Barriers, examining how Australia’s reimbursement settings can contribute to unintended disruptions;

  • Session 2: Opportunity and agility, exploring globally informed, action-oriented solutions for effective reporting and stronger system responsiveness; and

  • Session 3: Access and processes, identifying practical reforms to streamline regulation without compromising safety.
